Fundamental Capacity Screen Course Review

"What are your goals, and where are you now?"

Do you notice how the simplicity of these two questions ensure you laser-focus on getting done what should be done? Creating durable performers in sport, work and recreation is the ultimate goal for coaches, trainers and healthcare professionals. The Fundamental Capacity Screen Course observes four fundamental forms of movement energy expression and discusses how these interact with each other and the individual’s environment to create the sustainable movement fitness and movement health we seek.

For nearly 20 years, Functional Movement Systems has been dedicated to creating a movement based entry point for the exercise program design process—The Functional Movement Screen. The Fundamental Capacity Screen is a continuation of that systematic and logical approach: before we learn and acquire occupational, recreational or sport specific skills, we express energy through elemental capacities that can, and should, be measured. In this workshop you will explore Movement Control, Postural Control, Explosive Control and Impact Control, consider their vital importance within human development and reflect on the philosophy behind developing safe, body-relative screens to measure them.
