About
Supersets can quickly develop strength and power, but the nervous system strictly governs how much force the body can generate. Many coaches assume more volume or intensity always yields better results, yet overloading the athlete beyond what the nervous system permits may lead to diminished performance or even harm. Training differs from mere “workouts” by using measurable, goal-oriented planning and skill development. Coaches, therefore, must carefully balance stimulus and recovery to protect both the athlete’s well-being and their own professional reputation. When the push becomes excessive and outpaces adequate recovery, supersets can become damaging instead of productive.
