if a well-rounded comprehensive program fails to address modifiable reasons for injury (and thus modified training due to injury), then specialised corrective exercises need to be added, and there are experts available to do it.
A corrective exercise is an entry point, as Charlie Weingroff points out in “Hacking The Hinge”. It’s the place you start with an individual when you want to enhance their competence or capacity, or address a contributing factor to faulty movement. That it “corrects” something implies something is incorrect. And that it corrects something assumes that we have an agreed upon standard of what’s correct and incorrect. That argument or discussion will go on in our industry ad nauseum but we are at least much further advanced than we used to be about what normal movement should be - and professionals in the industry of human movement and athletic performance need a consistent understanding of this. A corrective exercise workshop draws on the practical and professional knowledge displayed in elite sporting performance training, and that already present in human movement, advancing it to address the modifiable risks for injury and reduced performance.
A minimum number of attendees is required for each hosting, and this is different for each location. To learn more, or to host a workshop, register your interest below.
