Self super band-assisted traction in quadruped

Purpose:

o    Create weight bearing hip flexion mobility.
Description:

o    In quadruped with a super band secured lateral and forward of the hip in question and wrapped around the inside of the proximal thigh, rock back into hip flexion, generating tension in the band and thus lateral traction with flexion.
Implications:

o    Assists with quadruped hip flexion weight bearing tasks, improving joint compliance.

Self-superband assisted traction in hip extension:

Purpose:

o    Reinforce manual therapist-induced hip traction with extension.

Description:

o    In half kneeling, with a superband secured lateral to the hip in question and wrapped around the proximal thigh, actively extend, abduct and externally rotate the thigh. Stabilise the trunk by locking the elbows straight and pressing down on the front knee.

Implications:

o    Reveals hip extension/abduction mobilitydysfunction.
o    Works better coupled with ball or foam roller-augmented local ischemic pressure to tissues around the thigh and hip area.
