Refining palpatory awareness begins with deep listening—through your hands.
The Cranial Pulse Awareness Exercise is a foundational practice for any practitioner seeking to heighten their touch sensitivity and therapeutic presence. This gentle, introspective method helps you attune to subtle rhythms in the body, particularly the craniosacral rhythm.

✨ Purpose
To establish a state of quiet receptivity and enhance your tactile listening skills.
🧘 Setup
Choose a quiet space.
Be seated or lying down, with your head supported comfortably.
🖐 Hand Placement Options
Light finger pads on your temples
Fingers resting over your parietals (sides/top of the head)
One hand gently cupping the occiput while lying down
🌀 Instructions
Relax your body.
Direct your attention into your fingertips.
Wait—don’t force sensation. Let the rhythm come to you.
You may begin to sense a subtle expansion and contraction, often cycling 6–12 times per minute.
🪞Reflection Prompts
Where is the rhythm most palpable?
Is there a wave? A stillpoint?
Do both sides feel equally responsive?
This practice is not about doing—it’s about listening. Over time, this skill becomes a gateway to more effective, present, and intuitive touch.
